Les missions
The Automation Engineer is involved in the analysis of industrial processes to identify tasks that can be automated, in order to optimize production and profitability. He designs automation systems (machines, robots, control systems) and ensures their integration into existing processes.
Upstream, he carries out feasibility studies and defines the technical needs for the automation of systems. It selects the appropriate technologies and equipment, taking into account production, safety, and performance constraints. It then programs the PLCs and configures the interfaces between the various systems (supervision, control-command, etc.).
Once the system is designed, the Automation Engineer manages the installation, carries out the tests and ensures the commissioning of the equipment. He is also responsible for the training of technical teams and for the preventive and corrective maintenance of systems. It intervenes in the event of a failure to quickly resolve malfunctions and minimize production stoppages.
The Automation Engineer is also responsible for the continuous optimization of automated systems based on production feedback and technological developments. It analyzes production data to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
In summary, the Automation Engineer plays an essential role in the modernization of industrial processes. By automating repetitive tasks and optimizing production systems, it allows the company to increase productivity and reduce production costs while ensuring the quality and safety of operations.
